Does your phone support eSIM?

Type your model — iPhone 12, Galaxy S23, Pixel 7. The list covers the phones and tablets people buy most; whatever it says, the phone itself has the final word, and checking it takes two taps.

Make sure on the phone itself

iPhone

  1. 1 Settings → General → About: an EID line means the iPhone takes an eSIM.
  2. 2 Same screen, Carrier Lock: it has to say “No SIM restrictions”.
  3. 3 iPhone XS and newer, unless it was bought in mainland China.

Android

  1. 1 Dial *#06#: an EID in the list means the phone takes an eSIM.
  2. 2 Settings → About phone → SIM status, or Network → SIM manager → Add eSIM.
  3. 3 Pixel 3 and newer, Galaxy S20 and newer, and many others — the region it was bought in matters.
