eSIM Cyprus: what you get

Networks
Epic 5G, Vodafone 5G
Speed
Up to 5G where the network has it, 4G elsewhere
Where your traffic comes out
Belgium. Websites see you there, not in the country you are visiting; streaming catalogues and apps that check your location go by that address.
After the daily allowance
A Daily Unlimited pass slows to 384 Kbps, 512 Kbps, or 1 Mbps until the next day. It is never cut off. How daily passes work
Top-ups
Add data to the same eSIM later, with no new QR code. A Daily Unlimited pass is bought for its full number of days and cannot be extended.
Buying ahead
Install any time within 180 days of purchase. For most plans the days start counting on the first connection at the destination, not at checkout.
Calls and SMS
Data only, with no phone number. Call over a messenger; a service that verifies you by SMS cannot reach this eSIM.

Cyprus: one island, two sets of networks

The Republic of Cyprus is in the EU and its networks cover the south of the island: Larnaca, Limassol, Paphos, Ayia Napa, the Troodos mountains and the southern part of Nicosia. The north is served by different operators, tied to Turkey, and this eSIM does not connect to them. Cross the Green Line for a day in Kyrenia or Famagusta and you will be offline until you come back; download what you need first.

The line matters even if you never cross it. In Nicosia's old town and along the buffer zone a phone on automatic selection can pick up a signal from the north, and people with EU SIM cards are billed for roaming outside the EU without having left the pavement. This eSIM simply does not use those networks, so there is nothing to be charged.

Coverage in the south is very good, 5G included, and thins only in the Troodos valleys and on the Akamas peninsula. The table above shows where this eSIM's traffic comes out, which is worth a glance: it is not Cyprus, and some websites will greet you in another country's language. The eSIM carries data only, with no Cypriot number.

Which plan for which trip

Messengers and maps are light. Video, calls and a laptop on a hotspot are what use data up.

How to install it

  1. 01

    Check your phone

It has to take an eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Does your phone support eSIM?

  2. 02

    Scan the QR code

After payment the QR code is on your order page. Scan it in the phone's settings — at home, over Wi-Fi.

  3. 03

Switch it on when you land

Turn on data roaming for the esimker line. It finds the network by itself.

Frequently asked questions

› Does it work in Northern Cyprus?

No. The north has separate networks that this eSIM does not use. It works again as soon as you are back in the south.

› Can I be charged for roaming near the Green Line?

Not on this eSIM — it is prepaid and does not connect to the northern networks. An EU SIM on automatic selection can be.

› Is there coverage in the Troodos mountains?

In the villages and on the main roads, yes. In deep valleys and on Akamas it drops.
