Where your traffic comes out
United Kingdom. Websites see you there, not in the country you are visiting; streaming catalogues and apps that check your location go by that address.
After the daily allowance
A Daily Unlimited pass slows to 384 Kbps, 512 Kbps, or 1 Mbps until the next day. It is never cut off. How daily passes work
Top-ups
Add data to the same eSIM later, with no new QR code. A Daily Unlimited pass is bought for its full number of days and cannot be extended.
Buying ahead
Install any time within 180 days of purchase. For most plans the days start counting on the first connection at the destination, not at checkout.
Calls and SMS
Data only, with no phone number. Call over a messenger; a service that verifies you by SMS cannot reach this eSIM.

Kyrgyzstan: registration on a local SIM, and mountains everywhere

Kyrgyzstan keeps a state register of phone IMEIs. A handset on a Kyrgyz SIM works for 30 days from first use and then has to be in the register or it is cut off from local networks. A phone on international roaming is not part of it, so a roaming eSIM needs nothing registered, however long the trek.

Nine tenths of the country is mountain, and coverage is a matter of valleys. Bishkek, Osh, Karakol and the northern shore of Issyk-Kul are well covered. Go up — to Song-Kul, Ala-Kul, the Pamir Highway's Kyrgyz stretch, any jailoo — and the signal ends with the last village, often for days. Tell someone your route and carry offline maps; no SIM of any kind changes this.

The eSIM carries data only, with no Kyrgyz number. Yandex Go works in Bishkek and Osh with a foreign number, and community-based tourism offices and yurt camps arrange things over WhatsApp.

Which plan for which trip

Messengers and maps are light. Video, calls and a laptop on a hotspot are what use data up.

How to install it

  1. 01

    Check your phone

It has to take an eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Does your phone support eSIM?

  2. 02

    Scan the QR code

After payment the QR code is on your order page. Scan it in the phone's settings — at home, over Wi-Fi.

  3. 03

Switch it on when you land

Turn on data roaming for the esimker line. It finds the network by itself.

Frequently asked questions

› Do I need to register my phone in Kyrgyzstan?

Not with this eSIM. The 30-day registration applies to phones on a Kyrgyz SIM; roaming is outside it.

› Will I have signal at Song-Kul or on a trek?

Almost certainly not. Coverage ends with the last village in the valley. Download maps and do not rely on the phone in the mountains.

› Does it work around Issyk-Kul?

Along the northern shore and in Karakol, yes. The southern shore is patchier, and the gorges behind it have none.
