eSIM United States: what you get

Networks
AT&T 5G, Verizon 5G
Speed
Up to 5G where the network has it, 4G elsewhere
Where your traffic comes out
United States. Websites see a local address, the same as on a local SIM.
After the daily allowance
A Daily Unlimited pass slows to 384 Kbps, 512 Kbps, or 1 Mbps until the next day. It is never cut off. How daily passes work
Top-ups
Add data to the same eSIM later, with no new QR code. A Daily Unlimited pass is bought for its full number of days and cannot be extended.
Buying ahead
Install any time within 180 days of purchase. For most plans the days start counting on the first connection at the destination, not at checkout.
Calls and SMS
Data only, with no phone number. Call over a messenger; a service that verifies you by SMS cannot reach this eSIM.

USA: a big country with holes in the map

American networks are fast in cities and absent in a surprising amount of the country between them. Large parts of the national parks — Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon's inner trails, Death Valley, much of the desert Southwest — have no signal on any carrier, and a long drive across Nevada, Montana or Wyoming will lose it for an hour at a time. Download offline maps before a road trip; no plan fixes geography.

This eSIM's traffic comes out inside the United States (the table above confirms it), so websites, streaming and banking apps treat you as a local connection — unlike most travel eSIMs, there is no foreign address to explain. The old 3G networks were all switched off in 2022, which matters only for very old phones: anything that takes an eSIM is new enough.

If you bought your iPhone in the US, it has no SIM tray at all — every model since the iPhone 14 is eSIM-only there — so an eSIM is the only kind of travel plan it can take, and it can hold several at once beside your home line. The plan carries data only, with no US number; a US number for a booking or a delivery is the one thing it will not give you.

Which plan for which trip

Messengers and maps are light. Video, calls and a laptop on a hotspot are what use data up.

How to install it

  1. 01

    Check your phone

It has to take an eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Does your phone support eSIM?

  2. 02

    Scan the QR code

After payment the QR code is on your order page. Scan it in the phone's settings — at home, over Wi-Fi.

  3. 03

Switch it on when you land

Turn on data roaming for the esimker line. It finds the network by itself.

Frequently asked questions

› Will it work in the national parks?

At visitor centres and lodges, often. On trails and scenic roads, frequently not — on any network. Take offline maps.

› Do US websites see me as being abroad?

No. The connection comes out in the United States.

› Do I get a US phone number?

No, the eSIM is data only. Calls go over WhatsApp, FaceTime or a similar app.
