- Where your traffic comes out
- United Kingdom. Websites see you there, not in the country you are visiting; streaming catalogues and apps that check your location go by that address.
- After the daily allowance

- Top-ups
- Add data to the same eSIM later, with no new QR code. A Daily Unlimited pass is bought for its full number of days and cannot be extended.
- Buying ahead
- Install any time within 180 days of purchase. For most plans the days start counting on the first connection at the destination, not at checkout.
- Calls and SMS
- Data only, with no phone number. Call over a messenger; a service that verifies you by SMS cannot reach this eSIM.
Kazakhstan: phone registration, and a very large map
Kazakhstan checks the IMEI of phones on its networks. A handset used with a Kazakh SIM has to be registered to its owner — with an IIN, the national identification number, or for a visitor with passport details — and an unregistered one can have its service limited. Phones on international roaming are excluded from the scheme, and a roaming eSIM is roaming: there is nothing to register.
The other thing to know is the size of the place. Almaty, Astana, Shymkent and the towns are well covered. Between them the steppe is empty for hundreds of kilometres, and so is the signal: on the road to Charyn Canyon, around the Kolsai lakes and across the west it comes and goes. Offline maps are not optional on a road trip here.
The eSIM carries data only, with no Kazakh number. Yandex Go and inDrive are how people get around the cities and both work with a foreign number; 2GIS is the map locals use, and it works offline.
Which plan for which trip
Messengers and maps are light. Video, calls and a laptop on a hotspot are what use data up.
How to install it
- 01
Check your phone
It has to take an eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Does your phone support eSIM?
- 02
Scan the QR code
After payment the QR code is on your order page. Scan it in the phone's settings — at home, over Wi-Fi.
- 03
Switch it on when you land
Turn on data roaming for the esimker line. It finds the network by itself.

Frequently asked questions
› Do I have to register my phone in Kazakhstan?
Not with this eSIM. IMEI registration applies to phones on a Kazakh SIM; phones on international roaming are excluded.
› Is there signal outside the cities?
In towns and along the main roads, mostly. In the steppe, the canyons and the mountains near Almaty there are long stretches with none.
› How long can I stay with it?
As long as the package lasts — it can be topped up. There is no registration clock running on the phone.
